Our Comments

It’s just deep fried fish, but they filter their oils, follow the Monterrey Bay Aquarium sustainability guidelines, and all of their food is gluten-free. “A” for effort.

From the Restaurant Site...

It’s no accident we have Portland’s best Fish & Chips. Besides top quality fish and the best French fries on the market, we use 100% rice bran oil. Many top chefs consider it to be the tastiest of all the oils. And unlike other cooking oils, no one is allergic to rice bran oil.

Rich in natural antioxidants and vitamin E, rice bran oil is not hydrogenated and contains no trans-fats.

Our high-tech fryers allow us to filter the oil twice a day to keep it clean.

The combination of clean, hot, high quality oil and a light dusting of rice flour creates a delicious and healthy serving of fish. The fish is actually sealed and steamed, and the finished product has almost no oil.

Done correctly, deep frying is actually a dry cooking technique that produces elegant, greaseless foods with crisp coatings and succulent interiors.

Also, because we use rice flour, people with gluten allergies can eat with confidence at our restaurants.
