Our Comments

Quirky and unexpected, casual yet professional, and very food-focused. 94 Stewart is not your typical Seattle restaurant. The location in a basement on a steep cobblestone road in historic Pike Place Market is a bit odd – you’re suddenly in another world. Chef Celinda Norton is value-driven and uncompromising.

The menu changes frequently; it’s mostly local and usually innovative, but the seafood salad with avocado tempura is always there, thankfully. The place is formal/informal; white tablecloths, but covered with butcher paper and crayons provided. Check out the customer comment wall in the back – amazing.

Fresh, Wild, Natural, Free Range and Organic are our standards. We seek only the best quality from the most reliable sources. Chef strives to be unique in everything she creates. Using a Pangean approach to her daily fresh sheets she showcases a world of flavors and preparations. Limiting her menus to what is fresh and available. As such, our menus change with the winds…

The kitchen prepares each dish to its proper temp. Salmon is wet, scallops seared “pert near raw” (As Alton Brown says on a great Good Eats episode – Shell Game IV) steaks are tender and juicy (not well done, but done well) and pork can even be a little pink.

We even use fat! Cuts with fats, salmon with skin. It is, afterall, what adds that wonderful flavor. And how can you say no to all natural?

You will not find instruments to over season your food available on the table nor will your server offer any. Don’t worry… the kitchen has already taken care of it for you. Dishes are served as Chef intends them to appear. Not split among several plates. Sharing is welcome! Your server will provide share plates and extra utensils as needed. Want to share your soup? Chef offers her daily creation by the cup or bowl and extra spoons are not a problem…

Our cheese and wine offerings are many and not limited to our small geographic location. We strive to find the best no matter its origin. Special Food or Wine Requests can be honored with adequate notice. Chef understands food allergies and sensitivities and will make every effort to ensure your meal will be fabulous and safe. Just please don’t make it boring! Give her a direction and let her create.

Our small dedicated staff wishes to make each visit memorable even coming in at a moments notice to help make that possible on their day off. We are the kind of place you can sit back in your comfortable jeans and enjoy the best life can offer. Never pretentious, just honest and true.

94 is the place where you can step from behind the curtains and say “Ta Da!” if it makes you feel good. We never take life too seriously and look for the fun in everything we do. Be careful though, long term exposure can be contagious…

Our staff is made up of real people, who truly care. They don’t read from scripts. They are never fake happy, or pretend smiley just because. There are too many places already like that.
