Festivore ChoiceOur Comments
A Seattle institution for over 10 years, Agua Verde does almost everything right. A busy, colorful cottage on a private pier with a large covered patio deck, surrounded by a boardwalk and rich foliage. The place is busy from doors open until closing, particularly if the weather is fine. Service is friendly but professional and sustainable sourcing is the rule on the menu.
The food & drinks are tasty and prices are just a bit above rock bottom and they charge extra for things like guacamole and chips, so they don’t quite qualify as “cheap eats” but they do have happy hours…
- Special Deals: Happy Hour menu 16-18:00 (4-6pm) Monday-Thursday
- Outdoor tables: many seats on the decks an boardwalk surround
- View: Portage Bay

From the Restaurant Site...
We offer creative, healthy Mexican food in a casual, waterfront setting. Sea kayaks are available for hourly rental downstairs. Paddle past eclectic floating homes with vistas of the Seattle skyline in the background.
The Agua Verde Cafe and Paddle Club takes its name from a beautiful bay in the Sea of Cortez, Baja California Sur, Mexico. The cuisine, decor and menu reflect the Mexican theme. The dining rooms are painted in festive, colorful tones, reminiscent of tropical fruits and flowers. Almost all of the food items, including a delicious assortment of side dishes, are prepared fresh daily. We try to incorporate healthy, natural foods into our menu…
- We use produce and fruits grown without pesticides.
- We use fish and seafood harvested in a sustainable manner.
- We use meats from animals raised on farms, not factories; given vegetarian feed with no antibiotics or growth hormones.
- We serve shade grown coffee.
During lunch the food is served cafeteria style. Dinner features a more extensive menu which includes botanas (appetizers). The Tacos de la Casa are the signature items at Agua Verde, and are available all day. The cafe also offers a variety of Margaritas, house-made soft drinks, Mexican beers and wine. Mouth watering house-made desserts include key lime pie, coconut flan and more.
