Our Comments
Bamiyan Restaurant is found in Issaquah’s Gilman Village on Seattle’s “Eastside.” The menu is half Afghan and half Persian. Although there are plenty of meat dishes, which are traditional to the region, you can dine quite well and inexpensively on the nice selection of low foods on the menu.

From the Restaurant Site...
Brothers Ali and Amir Sabour have opened the Eastside’s first Afghani restaurant, Bamiyan, in Issaquah’s notorious Gilman Village. Housed in one of the village’s historic buildings “The Market”, the dining atmosphere is elegant, yet casual.
Named in honor of the ancient statues carved into the high cliffs overlooking the Bamiyan Valley in Afghanistan, recently destroyed by the Taliban, Bamiyan features the culinary delights of the region. Boasting a complete traditional menu of lamb, chicken, beef, vegetable, rice and pasta dishes. More than 40 herbs and spices are used to create unforgettably tasty dishes. In accordance with traditional preparations, all dishes are made by hand with fresh ingredients only each and every day.
There is something for everyone at Bamiyan. A wide variety of moderately priced dishes are offered and the spices are mild and agreeable.
